PUBlic Legacy Brings Refined Comfort Food to the Heart of Orange County

Orange County is home to PUBlic Legacy, a chef-driven dining experience focusing on elevated comfort food, hand-crafted cocktails, fine wines, and craft beer. Located in the Stadium Promenade center in Orange, a premier dining and entertainment destination, located at the corner of West Katella Avenue and Main Street near the Honda Center.

PUBlic Legacy is the brainchild of partners Chef Gerry Kent and Chad Dickey, the team behind PUBlic House in Temecula and Downtown PUBlic in Murrieta.

While the restaurant’s menu highlights comfort food-inspired offerings meant to appeal to a wide range of diners, Chef Kent prides himself in presenting food laden with only the finest in locally sourced ingredients to provide diners with thoughtful dishes that taste their absolute best. The restaurant’s vegetable-forward options and even vegan options since as the must-try vegan Mac & Cheese, and Vegan Thai Curry complemented with a tremendous selection of entrees that carnivores will appreciate, including a 16-ounce chili coffee-rubbed and grilled Ribeye.

With a focus on humanely and naturally raised meats, PUBlic Legacy also offers a grill-roasted Angus Filet Mignon with a peppercorn cognac sauce; a grilled salt and sugar-brined Pork Chop topped with a fried egg and maple syrup; and the soon-to-be-famous Legacy Smash Burger made with Chef Kent’s own beef and pork blend, with cheddar, caramelized shallots, charred tomato, baby arugula, and garlic dijon aioli.

To accommodate Orange County locals, as well as the many visitors who travel to the area, PUBlic Legacy will offer a daily Brunch with a unique take on classic breakfast favorites, including a BaCon Benny with house-cured bacon and charred tomato over housemade cheddar biscuits, finished with egg and hollandaise. Chef Kent offers a vegan version of his take on the classic, which is every bit as exciting, with mushrooms, tofu and charred tomato over savory biscuits, finished with “hollindays” sauce.

Other droolworthy dishes on the menu are Sweet & Sour Pancakes made with crushed sweet roasted squash and sourdough starter, finished with butter-washed maple syrup; a signature Breakfast Sammy with house-made sausage, tomato, egg and cheddar; and a Croak Muh Damn, a twist on a traditional Croque Madame with fluffed eggs and mixed vegetables, herbs and mushrooms, topped with cheddar mornay and roasted potatoes.

PUBlic Legacy also features a carefully curated, yet extensive selection of Bourbon, Scotch, Whiskeys, Tequila, and Mezcal. The restaurant also showcases many of the award-winning local craft breweries in Southern California, as well as a thoughtful selection of wines. Guests may cozy up to the 30-seat bar or enjoy beverages on the restaurant’s 40-seat patio.

PUBlic Legacy currently serves lunch and dinner.

The restaurant is located at 1547 W. Katella Avenue in Orange.
